Human
Error is the major factor behind almost all railway related accidents. This
includes negligence, rashness, overworks alcoholic and other drug consumption,
hijack and terrorist activities. All these point towards the requirement of
automation of locomotives. Here we are proposing a new kind of automation
system that can control almost the entire activities of railways. Our system
can automatically detect the colour of signals and control the traction
according to the colour of the signal. We have also added the power of sonar
for detection and ranging of the obstacles in front of the wagon. The e-pilot
can also blow the horn according to the output of sonar.
Wireless
communication through the Short
Range Device (WSRD) can
intimate the starting and end points of speed limited area where track
maintenance or other catastrophic effects are taking place. The PWM base
traction motor drive improves the performance of traction. The foot board
journey and related accidents can be eliminated with the help of automatic door
control. The explosive and combustible gas sensors alert the autopilot to take
necessary actions like activating the alarm system and/or opening window
shutters. The electronic station annunciating system displays the station
names. The Global Positioning System is used to track the loco and to identify
the spot in case of accidents.

WI-MAX BASED MONITORING CONTROL OF POWER CONSUMPTION USING A NOVEL ELECTRONIC ENERGY METER
As a part of
curriculum for the seventh semester, students of the Electronics &
Communication were assigned with the task of developing an main project in
circuit designing. This main project is a Wimax-based monitoring control of
power consumption using a novel electronic energy meter. In the present
condition the availability of power is very limited. Owing to this point we
have designed a circuit which will help us to reduce the power consumption in a
controlled and useful manner with real time monitoring at a distant place.
The circuit is designed in a manner
such that it compares the power at house
with that of the theoretical value. The circuit is designed for a
particular value that may be considered to be some watts and this theoretical
value is stored inside a micro controller. In our project we are using a PIC.
Thus the theoretical value of power is compared with the power available at the
load .If the power at the load is greater than the theoretical value, then the
load will be turned off. If the power at the load is less than the theoretical
value then the load turns on. Thus the same process is repeated at suitable
small intervals. The measured value of the readings is send to anther PIC by
using serial communication and the value will be displayed on a LCD screen.

Arecanut Climbing Robot Free seminar and project topics and reports ece it cse eee
Nowadays though the
technologies are developed in India, the people who are depending on
agriculture are not having well developed equipments to collect the
agricultural crops by technically in an easy way. So we decided that our idea
should be an innovative and new one which is not yet introduced for
agricultural uses. We are doing tree climbing robot for climbing and harvesting
arecanut trees.The people in rural areas of Karnataka and Kerala mainly depend
on agriculture for their livelihood. The main crops grown here are Arecanut and
coconut.
Here we are designing and
fabricating motorized arecanut tree climber. The tree climber has a base on
which the drive system is mounted. The machine is placed around the tree and
clamped to it using a swivel opening on one side of the base. Due to the weight
of the motor, some extra mass concentrated on one end of the base the machine
locks itself to the tree. Now the motor is switched ON to drive the rollers.
When the rollers rotate gripping the tree, the whole setup is lifted along the
length of the tree. After reaching the required height the motor is switched
OFF. By having suitable auxiliary equipments for plucking the nuts on the setup
and suitable controlling methods for those equipments the required job can be
performed. Once the job is done the motor is made to rotate in the reverse
direction to descend down the tree.
Day by day the problems of
farmers are increasing. They are not getting 50% that they are spending. In the
case of arecanut tree farming even a 50% of the total income is not getting in
the hand of farmers. The main reason behind this is the climbing cost. So by
this project we are planning to reduce the pain and effort that the farmers
getting faced. We are sure that our project will make a great impact on
agriculture.
